About Saint Petersburg Country Club

Opened in 1924 as Lakewood Country Club, the course was designed by English-born architect Herbert Strong (of Canterbury CC and Engineers fame). The historic St. Petersburg layout hosted the St. Petersburg Open, a PGA Tour stop, twelve times, last in 1964, and the club was renamed St. Petersburg Country Club in 2000. It is member-owned and private.
