Chickasaw Pointe Golf Club

Chickasaw Pointe opened in 1999 within Lake Texoma State Park, laid out by Tulsa architect Randy Heckenkemper, a former associate of Jack Nicklaus. The routing is unusual: the two nines occupy separate peninsulas jutting into Lake Texoma, so the par-72, roughly 7,000-yard course serves up water views across much of the round as it tumbles over rolling, hilly terrain. Heckenkemper worked native features into the design, framing Bermuda fairways and Champion Ultra-Dwarf greens against the shoreline. About fifteen years after the opening he was invited back to build new holes that reworked the routing, drawing the second peninsula more fully into play for a more scenic experience. The scenic public layout is regularly ranked among Oklahoma's best courses playable by the traveling public.
