About Coffin Golf Club

Coffin Golf Club traces to the private Highland Golf Club, organized in 1903 to lease the southwest corner of Indianapolis' Riverside Park, where its course and clubhouse opened in 1904. After the lease expired the city took over the land, and it operated as the Charles E. Coffin municipal course by 1924. The course was completely redesigned and reopened in 1995 by golf architect Tim Liddy. It remains an 18-hole Indy Parks municipal course and, under a Riverside Park master plan, is the Riverside-area course slated to continue as golf.
