Rock Hollow is Tim Liddy's first solo design, and it carries the fingerprints of his mentor, Pete Dye, who reportedly recommended Liddy for the job with a simple "Tim will do it." The course threads across roughly 300 acres of reclaimed land once worked as a gravel pit and quarry by the Smith family's aggregate business. Liddy turned that raw industrial ground into a widely praised public layout, using water-filled excavations for risk-reward decisions and closing with a nervy Cape-style tee shot over a central lake. A drivable par-4 at the 13th shows his willingness to depart from convention while keeping Dye-school touches like a centerline bunker. Owned and operated by the Smith family, including former PGA Tour player Chris Smith, Rock Hollow is perennially ranked among Indiana's top public courses.
