The Fort Golf Course

The Fort Golf Course opened in 1997 inside Fort Harrison State Park in northeast Indianapolis, on land that was once part of the Fort Benjamin Harrison U.S. Army post. After the base was closed through the federal Base Realignment and Closure process, the State of Indiana converted much of the reservation into a state park, and Pete Dye, working with fellow architect Tim Liddy, routed a championship public course through the wooded, rolling terrain. The design plays to roughly 7,150 yards at par 72 and carries Dye's trademarks: tree-lined corridors, elevation changes, and firm, contoured greens that demand precise approaches. Set within a protected natural preserve, The Fort is consistently ranked among Indiana's top public courses and pairs a memorable Dye test with a genuinely scenic parkland setting.
