Sultan's Run Golf Club opened in 1992 on rolling Dubois County land near Jasper, Indiana, that was once a horse farm owned by the Ruxer family. The course takes its name from Supreme Sultan, a celebrated stallion who sired a record number of World Champion American Saddlebred horses over these same hills, and each hole is named for one of his champion offspring. Architect Tim Liddy, a longtime Pete Dye associate, led an extensive remodeling of the layout in 1996 that sharpened its reputation as one of the state's finest public courses. The routing moves through wooded valleys and open pasture and finishes memorably: the par-four closing hole plays to a green framed by a dramatic waterfall, widely regarded as one of the best finishing holes in Indiana.
