Why we love this place

Duston is a century of family devotion to a little nine-hole course, first shaped with horses and a borrowed bulldozer. Short, tree-lined and walkable, it is the kind of place where lifelong members and first-timers share the same tee sheet.

About Duston Country Club

Duston Country Club began with Artie Duston, who bought a 120-acre Hopkinton farm in the 1920s. When the town's only golf course closed, he saw an opening and built his own nine holes, shaping them with horses and a borrowed steam bulldozer; the course opened for play in 1926. Duston also added clay tennis courts and a restaurant, The Tea Room, which drew travelers passing what was then the junction of Routes 202 and 127. In 1955 he sold the club to his cousin Ruth White and her husband Stan, and their son Bob grew up on the property in an 1812 brick cape. After the Whites sold in 1976, Bob and his brother David bought the course back in 1983, and Bob and his wife Maureen have run it since, adding new tees, upgraded buildings and irrigation. The tree-lined, par-32 nine is now celebrating 100 years of family golf in Hopkinton.
