Farmingbury Hills Country Club

Est. 1920
Why we love this place

Farmingbury Hills puts a century-old company club on a mountaintop and hands it to the public. The nine holes deliver big views over Apple Valley, alternate tees make a satisfying eighteen, and a patio lunch at the East Street Eatery caps a relaxed Wolcott round.

About Farmingbury Hills Country Club

Farmingbury Hills began as a private club tied to the Chase Brass and Copper Company. Known early on as the Chase Foreman's Club and later as Chase Country Club, it served Chase management and their guests, and both the town and the course date its opening to 1920. In 1974 the Town of Wolcott bought the club and renamed it Farmingbury Hills Golf Course, turning a company retreat into a municipal facility open to everyone. The nine-hole course occupies about 85 acres atop Southington Mountain, with views across Apple Valley toward the Meriden and Avon mountains, and alternate tees let golfers play a full 18-hole round. The par-35 layout measures 2,966 yards. The clubhouse now houses the East Street Eatery, whose patio overlooks the course, and Farmingbury is a member course of the Connecticut State Golf Association.
