About Framingham Country Club
Framingham Country Club grew from a golf group organized in the early 1890s, formalized as Framingham Golf Club in 1898 and incorporated as Framingham Country Club in 1902 at its Gates Street site, where Arthur C. Blanchard designed the original nine holes. In the 1930s Donald Ross supervised a major redesign forced by the construction of Route 9, relocating seven holes. Later work by Orrin Smith, William F. Mitchell and Geoffrey Cornish brought the course to its current 18-hole form. Note: Ross supervised the 1930s redesign but did not found or originally design the course.
