Why we love this place
French Creek is Hanse and Wagner working with the land instead of against it, and we love that restraint. The routing rides the Chester County hills so naturally you forget it was designed at all. It is early-era Hanse, and it holds up beautifully.

About French Creek Golf Club
French Creek is a private club set among the rolling hills, woodlands, and wetlands of Chester County in Elverson, Pennsylvania. It opened in 2003, designed by Gil Hanse with his longtime design partner Jim Wagner, and stands among the firm's early solo projects, built before Hanse rose to international prominence for work such as the Rio Olympic course. A partnership of local Elverson-area businessmen brought Hanse on to build the layout, and the clubhouse followed in 2004. The course routes across varied, dramatic terrain typical of the region and has been well regarded within Philadelphia-area golf circles since its debut, a natural, ground-hugging design in the mold Hanse would become known for.
