About Los Angeles Country Club

George C. Thomas Jr. laid out the North Course in 1921, and Gil Hanse and Geoff Shackelford restored it to his original design in 2010. Long a private club that shunned the tournament spotlight, it hosted the 2017 Walker Cup and then its first major, the 2023 U.S. Open — the first men's major in the L.A. area in 28 years. Wyndham Clark won at 10-under 270, one ahead of Rory McIlroy.
