Hartefeld National

Hartefeld National opened in 1995 as a Tom Fazio design in the rolling countryside of Avondale, in Pennsylvania's Brandywine Valley. It debuted to acclaim, earning Golf Digest's Best New Public Course honor in 1996 and repeated recognition as one of the state's top public courses in the years that followed. The championship layout, stretching past 7,000 yards, quickly attracted competitive golf: it hosted a Senior PGA Tour event in the late 1990s along with developmental-tour stops, giving a young daily-fee course an unusually strong tournament pedigree. Over time Hartefeld transitioned from public access toward a private-club model and later came under national club-management ownership. Today it endures as one of the Philadelphia region's most respected Fazio designs, prized for its conditioning and natural, flowing routing through the valley.
