Hermitage Golf Course

Hermitage Golf Course is a 36-hole public facility along the Cumberland River in Old Hickory, near Nashville. The original course, the General's Retreat, was built in 1986 to a Gary Roger Baird design and became the home of the LPGA Tour's Sara Lee Classic from 1988 through 1999. Hall of Famers including Nancy Lopez, Meg Mallon, and Laura Davies won there, cementing the club's tournament reputation. In 2001 Hermitage added a second 18, the President's Reserve, designed by Denis Griffiths, which winds through roughly 300 acres of natural wetlands and river frontage and stretches to about 7,200 yards. Together the two courses give the club range: a mature, championship-tested layout paired with a longer, wetland-laced modern test, making Hermitage one of the busier and most respected daily-fee operations in Middle Tennessee.
