About Barona Creek Golf Club
Barona Creek Golf Club opened in 2001 on the Barona Indian Reservation in the hills east of Lakeside, on land the Barona Band of Mission Indians had used for cattle grazing for roughly a century. Gary Roger Baird's design team, working with Todd Eckenrode, routed the par-72 layout across about 250 acres of rolling oak country, transplanting more than 170 mature native oaks and shaping natural drainages into dry creek beds that serve as both habitat and hazard. Stretching beyond 7,300 yards, the course is known for firm, fast, links-influenced turf, expansive waste areas, and generous fairways framed by native grasses. Owned and operated by the tribe alongside Barona Resort & Casino, it has earned recognition as one of Southern California's premier casino-resort courses and a favorite for its conditioning.
