Est. 1925 · A.W. Tillinghast (1930s renovation of 1925 front nine); back nine by Geoffrey Cornish (1974)
Why we love this place
Hilltop golf with a pedigree: Tillinghast reworked the front nine and Geoffrey Cornish built the back. We love Highland Park for its views from one of Cayuga County's highest points, its century of history and a semi-private welcome that makes it an easy Finger Lakes favorite.

About Highland Park Golf Course
Highland Park Golf Club traces its start to 1925, when a group of businessmen bought 90 acres from Rogers Development and built a nine-hole, semi-private course on one of the highest elevations in Cayuga County, just outside Auburn. In the 1930s A.W. Tillinghast led major renovations, and over the next two decades sand traps were added, trees planted and tees and greens relocated. The club sold its original clubhouse and built a new one on Franklin Street Road in 1945. In the 1970s it acquired about 55 more acres for a back nine designed by Geoffrey S. Cornish, completed on July 4, 1974, turning Highland Park into an eighteen-hole course. The clubhouse was expanded in 1996, and Barry Jordan of Jordan Golf Design later rebuilt the front-nine bunkers.
