Kampen Golf Course

The Kampen Course occupies the ground of Purdue's former North Course, which Pete Dye reimagined into a demanding links-style layout that opened in 1997. Construction began in fall 1996, and true to Dye's intent the project doubled as a living classroom, with Purdue students contributing to the build. The par-72 design stretches to roughly 7,465 yards from the championship tees and features bentgrass greens and fairways, sprawling waste bunkers, native grasslands, and an environmentally minded water-reclamation system that recycles irrigation water. Named for benefactor Emerson Kampen, the course quickly earned a reputation as one of the nation's premier collegiate venues. It has hosted a string of major events, including the 2003 NCAA Women's Championships, the 2008 NCAA Men's Championships, and multiple NCAA regional and Big Ten championships.
