The King and Prince Golf Course was designed by Joe Lee and opened in 1989 on the north end of St. Simons Island, on land that was once part of Hampton Plantation. Lee reworked his plans to carry the routing across a chain of marsh islands in Wilson Creek, and those island holes became the course's signature stretch. It is tied to the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort, which opened in 1935, and the resort carried out a restoration of Lee's design in 2009.
