Lake Chabot Golf Course

Lake Chabot Golf Course, in the Oakland Hills, opened on Labor Day 1923 and has operated as a public course for more than a century, credited to Willie Lock (some sources add Willie Watson). Oakland remembers it as a home to PGA champions, a refuge for Black golfing pioneers and a training ground for East Bay kids. A fire destroyed its clubhouse in 2023.
