Est. 1968 · Barry Jordan
Why we love this place
The Swan is a hidden Catskills treat, with ponds, rock ledges and mountain views packed into a walkable, scenic par-70. Barry Jordan's 18 holes are fun for every level, and the alpine garden setting makes it one of the prettiest rounds in Ulster County.

About Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club
The Swan, long known as the Lazy Swan Golf & Country Club, sits in Saugerties in Ulster County, a few minutes off the New York State Thruway at the foot of the Catskills. Golf directories trace the course to 1968, when it opened as a nine-hole layout once known as Katsbaan Golf Club. In 2011 owner Tony Bacchi brought back architect Barry Jordan, who had laid out the original nine, to build a second nine and join the two into a full 18-hole course of about 6,500 yards at par 70. The expanded course is easily walkable and makes the most of its setting, with cascading and reflection ponds, rock outcroppings, dramatic elevation changes, an alpine garden and views of the Catskill Mountains. The club now operates as The Swan Country Club, a public course open to daily-fee play.
