About Legends Golf Resort Oyster Bay
Oyster Bay Golf Links opened in 1983 in Sunset Beach, a Dan Maples design created with developer Larry Young that became one of the courses that helped put the North Strand on the golf map. The par-70 layout runs a little under 6,700 yards through low-country marsh, and it earned immediate acclaim, taking Golf Digest's Best New Resort Course of the Year honors for 1983 and later landing among the magazine's top public courses. Oyster Bay is best known for its use of oyster and clam shells packed into waste bunkers and hazards, a distinctive local touch, along with island-style greens ringed by water and marsh carries that demand precise approaches. Cavernous bunkering and undulating greens round out a course now part of the Legends Golf Resort near Myrtle Beach.
