Lookaway Golf Club

Lookaway Golf Club occupies a storied stretch of Bucks County countryside whose recorded history reaches back to a William Penn land grant in 1713. A manor house built around 1752 still stands and serves as the clubhouse, believed to be among the oldest structures in the country used for that purpose, after the property spent generations as a family home, a schoolhouse, and the Lookaway Dairy Farm. In 1997 local partners bought the historic farm intending to build a first-class club while preserving its heritage. They engaged architect Rees Jones, known as the Open Doctor for his championship restorations, and the course opened in 1999. Jones routed a rolling parkland layout across the old farmland, blending generous landing areas with well-guarded greens. The result pairs modern championship golf with a genuinely rare, centuries-deep sense of place.
