Legend Trail opened in 1995 in north Scottsdale, first planned as Desert Ranch. Rees Jones is the credited designer, though accounts say Arthur Jack Snyder and Forrest Richardson shaped much of the course. It was the first golf course to go through Scottsdale's entire environmentally sensitive lands approval process.
