About Corica Park - South Course

Golf at Alameda's municipal complex dates to 1927, when William Park Bell designed what is now the North Course. The South Course was added in 1957 to a design by his son, William F. Bell, and was partially reworked by Robert Muir Graves in 1977. With operator Greenway Golf, Rees Jones and Steve Weisser rebuilt it almost entirely: every fairway was capped with six to seven inches of sand to create a firm, sandbelt-style course. It reopened in June 2018, and GOLF named it the top municipal renovation of the year.
