About Medalist Golf Club
Greg Norman founded Medalist in January 1995 in Hobe Sound, and the course marked the first design collaboration between Norman and the legendary Pete Dye. The result is a low-profile, strategic layout that rewards angles and ground-game creativity rather than raw power, stretching to roughly 7,570 yards at par 72. Soon after opening, Medalist hosted a nationally televised Shell's Wonderful World of Golf match between Norman and Nick Price, vaulting it onto ranking lists and earning early Best New Private honors. The club is famously the home course of both Norman and Tiger Woods. In 2015 the club commissioned Bobby Weed Golf Design and MacCurrach Golf Construction for a wall-to-wall restoration aimed at recovering the character and polish of Dye's original, subtly contoured vision.
