The course grew out of the Minnesott Recreational Development Corp. (chartered 1967); the clubhouse opened in April 1969 and the golf course on July 23, 1969, on 253 acres fronting the Neuse River in Minnesott Beach (Pamlico County). The 18-hole, par-72 layout was designed by R.T. Burney and operates as a semi-private club that welcomes the public daily.
