Oak Hills Country Club was designed by A.W. Tillinghast and opened for member play in 1922, originally founded as the Alamo Country Club; it reopened as Oak Hills after a Depression-era closure. Three new holes were added by Joe Finger in 1961. The private club hosted the PGA Tour's Texas Open 23 times between 1961 and 1994 -- with winners including Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino and Hale Irwin -- and staged the inaugural 1987 Tour Championship won by Tom Watson. It hosted the 2025 U.S. Senior Amateur.
