Oak Tree National is Pete Dye at his most demanding, a course that was engineered to test the very best and has the major-championship scars to prove it. We love its unapologetic difficulty and its wind-swept honesty; there is no hiding out here. It is a proper examination of golf, start to finish.

About Oak Tree National
Oak Tree National opened in 1976 in Edmond, Oklahoma, born from founders Ernie Vossler and Joe Walser's charge to Pete Dye to build one of the most challenging courses in the country. Dye delivered a punishing layout of tiny greens, deep bunkers, water hazards and thick Bermudagrass rough, all exposed to relentless Oklahoma wind. The course earned national acclaim almost immediately, landing on Golf Digest's list of America's greatest courses shortly after opening. Its championship résumé is exceptional for a modern course: the 1984 U.S. Amateur, won by Scott Verplank; the 1988 PGA Championship, won by Jeff Sluman at 12 under par; the 2006 Senior PGA Championship, won by Jay Haas; and the 2014 U.S. Senior Open, won by Colin Montgomerie. Dye returned to redesign the course in 2002. Oak Tree is slated to host the U.S. Senior Open again in 2027.
