About Old Macdonald

Old Macdonald opened on June 1, 2010, at Bandon Dunes as a tribute to Charles Blair Macdonald, the first U.S. Amateur champion and often called the father of American golf architecture. Tom Doak and Jim Urbina built it around Macdonald's template holes, including the Redan, the Short, the Long and the Eden. Doak said its greens were the biggest anyone had built in 30 years.
