Pequabuck Golf Club

Est. 1902
Why we love this place

Pequabuck carries more than 120 years of Connecticut golf on a compact, clever par 69. Two loops of nine, small greens that demand precision, and a membership that treats visitors like neighbors make it a charming throwback worth seeking out in Terryville.

About Pequabuck Golf Club

Golf at Pequabuck dates to 1902, when the Highland Golf Club opened on April 1 with five holes, three par 3s and two par 4s, in the Terryville section of Plymouth. Twenty-six years later the club reorganized as Pequabuck Golf Club, Inc., and it survived the Great Depression when many clubs did not. Harry I. Bartholomew, one of the founders of the Central Connecticut Golf Association in 1927, is remembered as the most influential figure in its growth, helping to donate and secure land for the course's expansion, and his name lives on in the Harry Bartholomew Four-Ball. The designer of the first holes is unknown, but in the late 1960s Geoffrey Cornish and his partner Bill Robinson built three new holes. Today the 18-hole course plays as two loops of nine at par 69 over 6,015 yards. Pequabuck runs as a membership club with member tee times on weekends and non-member play at other times.
