Persimmon Ridge Golf Club

Persimmon Ridge Golf Club sits on rolling, wooded land east of Louisville in Shelby County, Kentucky. After purchasing the property in the mid-1980s, the owners hired acclaimed architect Arthur Hills, who drew up a 36-hole master plan; the first eighteen opened in 1989. Hills used the tract's natural contours to build a demanding, shot-testing layout that earned a reputation as one of his most challenging designs, later recognized by Golf Digest for outstanding design. The course has hosted the Kentucky Open several times since opening. Its combination of significant elevation change, tree-lined corridors and well-defended greens keeps it a favorite among the region's better players, and it remains a well-regarded destination for competitive golf just outside the Louisville metro area.
