About Randolph (North) Course
Randolph North opened in 1925 as Tucson's oldest golf course, a parkland layout named for Tucson pioneer and railroad executive Epes Randolph. It originally had sand fairways and oiled cottonseed greens; it was grassed in 1936 with labor from a New Deal work program. As part of the City of Tucson's municipal system, the North Course hosted decades of pro golf, including the PGA Tour's Tucson Open and Match Play Championship and the LPGA Tucson event from 1981 to 2002.
