About Randolf Golf Complex

Randolph is Tucson's oldest municipal golf complex, opening in 1925 on parkland named for railroad executive Epes Randolph. Golfers first played sand fairways and oiled sand-and-cottonseed greens until 1936, when architect William P. "Billy" Bell grassed and redesigned the North course with New Deal labor. The complex later hosted the PGA Tour's Tucson Open and an LPGA event, and its former South course was rebuilt in the mid-1990s and renamed for longtime head pro Dell Urich.
