Rio Secco Golf Club

Rio Secco Golf Club opened in 1997 in Henderson, a Rees Jones design routed across three distinct terrains: elevated plateaus, tight box canyons and rolling desert washes at the base of the Black Mountains. From the tips it stretches past 7,300 yards with a stout slope, and it earned early acclaim as one of the country's best new upscale public courses. The club is best known as home to the Butch Harmon School of Golf, where the celebrated instructor has worked with major champions, giving Rio Secco a teaching pedigree few desert courses share. Jones returned in 2017 to soften some edges and improve playability for everyday golfers while preserving the test that low-handicappers prize. Dramatic elevation change and canyon holes make it a memorable, demanding round.
