River Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh opened in 1997, designed by Chuck Smith, who carved the course into the ravines and rolling hills near the Neuse River. The parkland layout is framed by mature trees with a few lakes in play, and is regarded as one of the better public-access courses in the Raleigh area.
