Sand Valley Golf Resort

Sand Valley, the namesake first course at Mike Keiser's central Wisconsin resort near Nekoosa, opened in 2017 on more than 1,700 acres of tumbling glacial sand dunes. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw began routing the layout in 2014, discovering a rare inland sandscape reminiscent of heathland or the Sandhills, and shaped a firm, rugged, sandy course full of width, options, and dramatic natural contour. It was named Golf Digest's Best New Course of 2017. The resort grew quickly around it: Coore and Crenshaw's Sandbox par-three course and David McLay Kidd's expansive, playable Mammoth Dunes both opened in 2018, with further courses added since. Walkable, strategic, and gloriously exposed to the wind, Sand Valley has become one of America's premier modern destination resorts.
