Cuscowilla On Lake Oconee

Cuscowilla opened in 1997 along the shoreline of Lake Oconee in Eatonton, about 70 miles east of Atlanta, and remains the only Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw design in Georgia. Working on a tract that had once been a seed orchard, the minimalist duo moved very little earth, letting the routing settle naturally across native grasses, stands of pine, and the lake's edges rather than imposing a manufactured look. The result is a walkable, strategic course with wide, firm playing corridors, subtle green complexes, and options off nearly every tee, hallmarks of the Coore and Crenshaw philosophy. Over the years it has become a fixture on best-of lists, regularly cited among the top modern courses in the country and as one of the finest you can play in Georgia.
