The Warren Golf Course At Notre Dame

The Warren Golf Course opened in 2000 as the University of Notre Dame's home layout, designed by the celebrated Austin, Texas partnership of Bill Coore and Masters champion Ben Crenshaw. Construction began in 1997 on rolling terrain northeast of campus, and the firm applied its trademark philosophy of traditional, strategic, minimalist golf that works with the natural land rather than against it. The par-72 course plays from about 5,300 yards up front to roughly 7,020 yards from the tips and is dotted with dozens of bunkers that reward thoughtful positioning over raw power. Beyond serving the Fighting Irish golf programs, the Warren has drawn regional and national competition and is frequently praised for its walkable, classical character, embodying the throwback design sensibility that made Coore and Crenshaw among the most admired architects of their era.
