We love the Retreat for its easy Southern grace. Davis and Mark Love opened up the land so you can swing freely through those big Georgia pines and coastal oaks, and the whole place hums with the family's personal touch. It's championship golf that still feels welcoming and warmly playable.

About Sea Island Golf Club - Retreat
The Retreat is the third course at Sea Island's storied golf club on St. Simons Island, joining the celebrated Seaside and Plantation layouts. Originally designed by Joe Lee, it was completely reimagined in 2001 by Davis Love III and his brother Mark, the first project of their new firm, Love Golf Design. The brothers added roughly 300 yards and lowered the profile of the land, opening up sightlines while weaving holes through Georgia's coastal woodlands of towering pines and native oaks. The result is a playable yet dramatic par 72 stretching just over 7,100 yards, blending exposed stretches with tree-lined corridors. As a course close to the Love family's roots, the Retreat carries a personal signature, and its polished conditioning and relaxed rhythm make it a favorite among resort guests.
