Southern Hills Plantation Golf Club

Southern Hills Plantation Club opened in 2006 as a Pete Dye design north of Tampa in Brooksville, on the rolling terrain of Florida's Brooksville Ridge. Dye set out to echo Golden Age architecture, and the site gave him a rare Florida asset: dramatic elevation change said to reach around 250 feet, unusual for the state. The par-72 layout plays roughly 7,300 yards to a stout rating and slope, its eighteen named holes carved through native oaks and magnolias on former nursery land and routed past ravines, lakes, and conservation buffers. The private club has hosted Florida State Golf Association events, including state amateur competitions. Ownership has evolved over the years, with managing partner MG Orender's group later selling the club to Heritage Golf Group, which added it to its national portfolio of private clubs.
