Spring Hills Golf Course sits on the former Silva ranch in the Watsonville foothills, where a 1911 ranch house now serves as the clubhouse. Hank and Dorie Schimpeler bought the ranch in 1964 and converted it to golf; the back nine opened May 15, 1965, and the front nine was finished in 1969. It is still family owned and operated by the Schimpelers' daughter and her husband.
