About The City Course At The Phillips Event Center

The City Course at The Phillips Event Center in Bryan, Texas is an 18-hole, par-72 municipal course (about 6,748 yards). It originally opened in 1971 as Briarcrest Country Club, designed by turfgrass scientist Dr. Marvin H. Ferguson. Local developer Wallace Phillips donated the roughly 107-acre course to the City of Bryan, which accepted the gift in December 2017 and reopened it as the city's municipal course, renamed The City Course -- replacing the aging Travis B. Bryan Municipal course.
