The Ledges Golf Club

The Ledges opened in 1999 as the first solo design from architect Brad Booth, a Maine native from nearby Ogunquit. Set on rugged inland terrain south of York, the par-72 layout stretches to roughly 6,900 yards and takes its name from the granite ledge outcroppings that define the property. Booth worked with a light touch, letting fairways flow across rolling, tree-framed countryside with no surrounding housing. The routing is best known for its finish: an 18th of well over 600 yards, often called one of the toughest closing holes in Maine, demanding carries from both the tee and the approach. A downhill par-three eighth to a tiered green is another signature. Booth would later form a design partnership with PGA Tour player Brad Faxon a couple of years after this course debuted.
