About The Republic Golf Club

The Republic Golf Club is a public daily-fee course about 10 minutes southeast of downtown San Antonio, opened in 2002. It was designed by Art Schaupeter, a former associate of Keith Foster, who routed the holes along Salado Creek through a wooded floodplain so that virtually every hole feels secluded. Mature elm, oak and mesquite trees line the fairways, and the course stretches beyond 7,000 yards from the back tees. The San Antonio Express-News Golf Panel voted it the city's top public facility in 2006, 2007 and 2009, and it has served as a Valero Texas Open qualifying host.
