Verdict Ridge Golf & Country Club in Denver, NC, opened in 1998. The course was the project of local judge Eddie Knox, who attended golf architecture school in the early 1990s and laid out much of the course himself with architect Ed Schweitzer; the Knox family developed and managed it. The layout occupies about 200 acres alongside a roughly 400-home residential community.
