The Irish Course opened in 2000 as the second course at Whistling Straits, the Kohler Company's complex north of Sheboygan, following the Straits Course of 1998. Pete Dye laid it out inland, across the road from the Straits, through dunes, native grasses and wetlands. The property was once Camp Haven, an airfield abandoned in 1959.
