Wilshire Country Club

Wilshire Country Club was founded in 1919 in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, with its course, designed by English-born architect Norman Macbeth, opening the following year. Routed across gently rolling land and crossed by a barranca that comes into play on several holes, the par-71 layout stretches to roughly 6,500 yards and has remained a respected, understated presence in the city for more than a century. It hosted the Los Angeles Open four times between 1928 and 1944, drawing the era's leading professionals, and in more recent years has become a fixture on the LPGA Tour, hosting a stop that has run under names including the JM Eagle LA Championship. Tucked into a dense urban setting, Wilshire endures as one of Los Angeles's classic golf addresses.
