Why we love this place

Windham has a century of eastern Connecticut golf in its bones: oak-lined fairways, small, subtle greens and spring-fed ponds that reward precision over power. A heated Toptracer range and a lively bar and grill bring it right up to date. A classic worth the trip.

About Windham Club

The Windham Golf Course on Club Road in North Windham began in 1922 as the Willimantic Country Club, an exclusive private club whose original nine holes opened that year. Photographs from the 1930s, including a 1934 aerial view, show the early clubhouse and grounds. The present championship-length 18 was completed in the 1960s, and the club later operated as The University Club of Connecticut before taking the Windham name. The traditional layout features narrow fairways lined with mature oaks, smallish and subtly contoured greens, and three holes bordered by natural spring-fed ponds. Since opening to the public, the club has renovated its clubhouse while keeping the original steel beams and adding a deck, refreshed its Fairways Bar & Grill, and built a heated driving range with Toptracer technology. It operates as a daily-fee course with online tee times.
