Woodloch began planning a golf course in 1989 as part of expanding its resort property. Architect Rocky Roquemore designed the 18-hole course, which opened in 1992 on more than 600 acres of forest and wetlands. It is part of the family-owned Woodloch Resort. The 14th hole, a par 5, requires a long carry over Hell's Gate Gorge.
