Cherokee Town and Country Club (North)

The North Course at Cherokee Town & Country Club, long known as the Riverside, evolved over several decades near the Chattahoochee River in Sandy Springs. Willard Byrd built the first nine, the Pineside holes, north of the clubhouse in 1977. Joe Lee and Rocky Roquemore added a second nine in 1986, joining Byrd's holes to complete an eighteen-hole layout. In 1998 Tom Fazio revised the course, smoothing the transition between the two nines and modernizing the design. Set across rolling, wooded terrain with considerable elevation change, the North rewards precise distance control. It anchors one of Atlanta's most prestigious private clubs, part of a 36-hole complex serving members from the city's north side.
