American Dunes Golf Club

American Dunes is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course built on the site of the former Grand Haven Golf Club, which dated to 1965 and closed in 2018. Nicklaus stripped away most of the old tree-lined layout, exposing sweeping sandscapes and dunes across a par-72, roughly 7,200-yard course that reopened on Memorial Day 2020. The club is a living tribute to Folds of Honor, the scholarship charity for families of fallen and disabled service members founded by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, who ran a small tournament here in 2006 that helped inspire the organization. A memorial honors service members on every hole, an American flag flies between the 9th and 18th, and course profits support the Folds of Honor mission.
